<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial gap type motor capable of preventing short circuit of a magnetic flux between magnet pieces adjacent to each other in a circumferential direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The axial gap type motor 10 includes: a plurality of main permanent magnet pieces 41 magnetized in a rotating shaft O direction and disposed in the circumferential direction; a rotor 11 rotatable around the rotating shaft; and stators 12 oppositely disposed on the rotor 11 from both ends of the rotating shaft O direction. A rotor core 13 is configured by winding a tape-like magnetic plate 14 and provided with a space 16 for preventing magnetic flux leakage between the main permanent magnet pieces 41, 41 adjacent in the circumferential direction.
