PURPOSE: A method for tracking the movement of a moving target of an image tracking apparatus is provided to calculate and estimate the location of a target by calculating a correlation between a reference image and an input image based on a weight function. CONSTITUTION: A search region is defined in an input image(100). A correlation between the input image and a reference image, which is obtained based on a target, is calculated(200). Based on the calculation result, the location of the target is estimated(300). According to information related to the estimated target, a target model is obtained(400). A target model calculation region is defined.
