<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus capable of reliably transmitting the power of a pinch roller to a platen roller. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a tape printing apparatus, a gear holder 60 is provided at one end portion of a shaft part 37 of the pinch roller 35. In the gear holder 60, a pinch roller gear 135 and an idle gear 45 which is a gear positioned between the pinch roller gear and the platen gear 131 are retained. The idle gear 45 is meshed with the pinch roller gear 135 and the platen gear 131. Therefore, when the pinch roller gear 135 rotates, the idle gear 45 accordingly rotates, and the platen gear 131 rotates.
