It is presented a method for detecting a radio-frequency identification tag in a radio-frequency identification detector device with a self-contained power supply. The method comprises the steps of: loading a resonance circuit (131,142) with transmitter energy supplied from the self-contained power supply; operating a first switch (127) to prevent further energy loading of the resonance circuit and to enable the resonance circuit to resonate transmitting a wireless signal (3) from the resonance circuit using the transmitter energy; and detecting a presence of a radio-frequency identification tag based on an attenuation of a signal derived from the resonance circuit. A corresponding radio frequency-detector device is also presented. |
