<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel adhesive composition for food having excellent adhesive strength as well as no discoloration, foul taste and a foul smell and capable of easily controlling an extension of time for adhesion. <P>SOLUTION: The adhesive composition for food comprises an arginic acid salt and a cured fat and oil-coated calcium salt having a specific eluted concentration of calcium, and the adhesive composition for food in which the eluted concentration of calcium of the cured fat and oil-coated calcium salt is 1 and 2 is provided: 1. The eluted concentration of calcium is ≤50 ppm eluted concentration of calcium after 3 min, when the cured fat and oil-coated calcium salt is dispersed in water to be 1% as the calcium salt. 2.
