<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that prevents the occurrence of a hot-offset even with use of a low-temperature fixable toner. <P>SOLUTION: In the fixing device 40, first and second heater lamps 67 and 77 heat first and second fixing belts 60 and 70 to a prescribed temperature which is higher than or equal to the melting point of the crystalline polyester contained in the toner constituting a toner image on a recording paper, whereupon the toner image is fused into place. Then, first and second cooling portions 62 and 72 respectively cool the first and the second fixing belts 60 and 70 down to a prescribed temperature which is higher than or equal to the melting point of the release agent contained in the toner constituting the toner image but lower than the melting point of the crystalline polyester. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
