PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve display characteristics of a dielectrophoretic display device. SOLUTION: A plurality of scan lines 12 extending in an X axis direction are arranged in a Y axis direction, A plurality of signal lines 13 extending in the Y axis direction cross the scan lines 12 and are arranged in the X axis direction. Control electrodes 2 are provided in the vicinity of intersections between signal lines 13 and scan lines 12. A TFT 15 connects a control electrode 2 and a signal line 13 in response to input of an on signal from a scan line 12. A dispersion system 6 is filled between the control electrodes 2 and a transparent common electrode 4 and contains a white liquid 7 and black particulates 8 being dielectrophoretic particles having a dielectric constant different from that of the white liquid 7 being a dispersion medium. Under the control of a signal processing part 20, a shift register 21 switches scan lines 12 to which the on signal should be inputted, and a shift register 22 switches a switch 31 to input an AC signal of a specific frequency corresponding to a display color of a corresponding control signal 2, to a signal line 13 corresponding to the control electrode 2.
