The device (10) has a flat-base tappet (12) comprising an inner cup (32) and an outer cup (34). A coupling element (40) i.e. bolt, couples the inner and outer cups with one another in a coupling position, and decouples the inner and outer cups in a decoupling position. The coupling element is movably supported in a recess (44) of the inner cup. The coupling element intervenes in a groove (42) in an inner wall (38) of the outer cup in the coupling position. A return spring (46) is arranged in the recess of the inner cup.
