The strip has fleece material on both surfaces and elastic film strips in sections between them. One surface is a flat fleece layer. The fleece material between the film strips is joined to fleece material on the opposite surface of the strip. Each film strip is connected to a fleece material layer to form a laminate strip that is stuck on its film side to the flat fleece material layer. The fleece material joined to the flat fleece material between the laminate strips is strips of fleece material parallel to the laminate strips. The fleece coating overlaps the laminate strip edge regions. An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing an inventive material strip.
