PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record encrypted information on a print medium without affecting an image. SOLUTION: In a printing device, image is printed in an image print area 91 of the print medium 9 by controlling discharge of fine droplets of ink from a plurality of discharge ports 31 of a discharge mechanism by a discharge control part, and auxiliary discharge for preventing clogging is performed toward the print medium 9, regardless of image data, from a discharge port 31 from which the discharge is never performed while moving the print medium 9 in a scanning direction by a predetermined distance. In the printing device, a first dot row 94 showing a first value included in the encrypted information and a second dot row 95 showing a second value are formed on a margin area 921 by changing the timing of auxiliary discharge performed to the margin area 921 in a part of the discharge ports.
