PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce environmental load and to improve operability in attachment/detachment while preventing an increase in the manufacturing cost of an ink cartridge attached to and detached from a printer. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 200 horizontally attached to and detached from the printer 100 includes a liquid storage container 220 filled with ink; an outer body 240 of box shape into which the liquid storage container 220 is inserted; an engaging surface 210 arranged at one end of the outer body 240 of box shape in the state of the liquid storage container 220 being inserted in the outer body 240; and a supply port 230 turned on the same axis as the inserting direction of the liquid storage container 220 on the engaging surface 210 and engaged with a holder part 310 on the printer 100 side.
