<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm rest for minimizing modification with respect to a seat frame, and adjusting a vertical position. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The arm rest 1 includes: an outer frame 2; an inner frame 3 juxtaposed with the outer frame 2; a first shaft 4 fixedly arranged in the outer frame 2 and pivotally supporting one end of the inner frame 3; a second shaft 5 fixedly arranged in the body of a seat S and pivotally supporting the other end of the inner frame 3; and a wire 6 as a link member to link the first shaft 4 with the second shaft 5.
