<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a video image processor that controls execution of up-conversion processing for a video image signal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The video image processor includes a DVD recorder 11 and digital television receiver 12. The DVD recorder 11 inserts a belt-shape black pixel group in a right end of a video image frame 111 for configuring a video image source based on the difference between the resolution of a video image reproducing signal (video image source) and the same provided in the video image signal transmission to the digital television receiver 12, the result of which is converted into a video image frame 113 provided in the transmission and transmitted to the television receiver 12. The television receiver 12 carries out up-conversion processing for a portion except a black pixel group inserted from the video frame 113 and acquires a video frame 121. This results in acquiring the video signal for which the up-conversion processing provided in the television receiver 12 is carried out and allowing the video image based on the video signal to be displayed on a screen.
