PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the amount of time required to detect the frequency of vibrations of an object of detection after a change in the frequency of vibrations. SOLUTION: Vibration detection data input from a vibration sensor that detects vibrations of a structure whose vibration is to be suppressed are acquired in a cycle T<SB>0</SB>(206). A vibrational component in the range of frequency of vibrations of a vibration-free object is extracted (208). After that, the integral value B of the vibrational component A thus extracted is computed (210). The effective value Ae of the vibrational component A is computed (212), and the effective value Be of the integral value B is computed (214). The angular frequencyωof vibrations of the vibration-free object is computed by dividing the effective value Ae by the effective value Be (216). The center frequencyω<SB>0</SB>of vibrations of the vibration-free object is computed by eliminating a noise component by performing low-pass filtering on the angular frequencyωof vibrations N times (218).
