The vehicle has electrical drive units (104, 105), and a control unit (103) for switching on and off the electrical drive units depending on prioritization of functions associated with the electrical drive units. The electrical drive units are selected from an electrical motor driving wheels and an axle of the vehicle, an electrically operated air conditioning compressor, a drive for an electrical steering mechanism, an electrically-operated low pressure pump, an electrically-operated starting device and a generator. An independent claim is also included for a method for operation of multiple electrical drive units of a vehicle.
