<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-close functional type pipe-expanding device which can secure rubber expansion pipe in an expanded-diameter state without using a coupler with a check valve housed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A pipe-expanding device 10 includes: a rubber expansion pipe 12 in which a reinforcing layer 18 expanding in the diameter expanding direction by fluid pressure and contracting axially is embedded; an end fitting 20 and a mouth piece 30; an inlet 38; and a core pipe 42 fixed in the mouth piece 20 and extending axially within the rubber expansion pipe 12. Furthermore, the core pipe 42 seals an interval between a peripheral side space 50 and inner side space 48 in such a way that a chip contacts with a contacting section 44 of the inner surface of the rubber expansion pipe 12 when the rubber expansion pipe 12 is expanded in diameter to a predetermined enlarged-diameter with axial contraction.
