<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable, without altering the configuration of an image forming apparatus, a density sensor calibration paper to be read by a density sensor without being passed through a fixing unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a second conveyance path 102 communicating with the downstream side of the fixing unit 40. In a calibrating operation mode for an image sensor 60, a calibration chart inserted into the second conveyance path 102 via an opening P, which is used for taking out a jammed paper, is conveyed to a readable position of the density sensor 60 by conveying rollers 55, 54, 52, and 53.
