<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP telephone terminal for transmitting a message even under the condition that a telephone terminal and a telephone system in a call terminating party are not provided with an automatic answering function. Ž<P>SOLUTION: While a called party does not yet respond after a call has been originated, it is determined whether a disconnecting manipulation for an originating call accompanied by manipulation of a message transmitting instruction input device has been made. When the message transmitting instruction input device is determined to have been manipulated, message databased on input by a user is generated. The message data generated is then transmitted to the called party based on the predetermined notifying data. After the notifying data is transmitted with a transmitting device, a disconnection message is transmitted. Moreover, when termination response manipulation is not executed by the user after the call is terminated from the originating party and before the disconnection message is received from the originating party, whether the predetermined notifying data has been received is determined. When reception of the predetermined notifying data is determined, the message data included in the notifying data is stored in the storing device and the stored message data can be referenced by the user.
