<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reduced-weight locker for automobile while maintaining high rigidity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The locker for automobile 1 includes a closed cross section formed of an outer panel 11 and an inner panel 12 and is provided with a reinforcement 2 thereinside. A guide rail for a slide door is provided in a locker rear part 1B forming a lower edge of a slide door opening 5, and the locker structure for automobile includes a locker front part 1A and the locker rear part 1B, whose cross sections differ in shape. The reinforcement 2 is divided into a front reinforcement 2A and a rear reinforcement 2B; the front reinforcement 2A is configured of a straight-lined high tensile steel sheet which forms an identical cross section at front and rear at yield stress of 580 MPa or more. The rear end of the front reinforcement 2A and the front end of the rear reinforcement 2B are overlapped and joined at a locker intermediate part 1C to which a lower end of a center peeler 6 is connected; and thus, the entire locker is reduced in weight while maintaining high rigidity.
