<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for providing a user with easy-to-see data corresponding to his or her desired pages. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner is provided with a control part. The control part is provided with a CPU or the like. The CPU specifies the data on the table of content and/or index pages from a data group (S12). The CPU specifies numbers included in the data of the table of content and/or index pages and the positions of the numbers on the data are identified (S22).
