PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saddle riding type electric vehicle including a head pipe supporting a front fork and a steering handle free to steer, a main frame extended back downward from the head pipe, and an electric motor to exert motive power to rotate and drive a rear wheel and capable of arranging a larger battery and preventing the influence of heat generated by the battery on an occupant. SOLUTION: A vehicle body frame FA includes a down frame 15 connected to the front end of a main frame 14 and extended downward, and a pivot frame 16 connected to a rear end of the main frame 14 and extended downward. A main battery 30 is arranged in a first space S1 surrounded with the down frame 15, the pivot frame 16, and the main frame 14. The electric motor 29 is arranged at a position different from the first space S1. A first fan 43 for cooling to suck air heated with the main battery 30 to the rear side of the first space S1 and to exhaust it to the rear of a seat 28 for the occupant, is supported on the vehicle body frame FA.
