PURPOSE: A sense amplifier circuit is provided to prevent the overshooting of a core voltage unit by controlling the overdriving period of a sense amplifier. CONSTITUTION: A sense amplifier control signal generating part(1) generates an overdriving control signal for controlling the overdriving period of a sense amplifier. The sense amplifier control signal generating part controls an enable period of the overdriving control signal(OV) according to the level of the external voltage supplied by the overdriving. The sense amplifier(2) is operated in response to the overdriving control signal. A first control signal generating part generates a first period set signal which maintains the enable period during a first delay period after receiving a sense amplifier enable signal(SAEB). A pulse width regulating part generates a second period set signal by increasing the enable period of the first period set signal as much as a second delay period.
