PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment method for efficiently analyzing wood DNA through overcoming conditions disadvantageous for analyzing the wood-specific DNA. SOLUTION: The pretreatment method for analyzing wood DNA includes the following process: Wood is made into chips, which are immersed into water or a buffer solution and then vibrated. The resultant woodchips are subjected to solid/liquid separation, the liquid-phase portion is centrifuged, and the obtained precipitate is served as a specimen for DNA analysis.
