<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reform a video pseudo contour, a motion judder, etc., generated when a frame-rate-converted image is displayed on a sub-field emission type image display. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A frame rate conversion part 12 converts the frame rate of an input image. A motion vector detection part 11 detects a motion vector V0 between frames of the input image, and finds a motion vector V after frame-rate conversion from the motion vector V0. When the frame rate conversion part 12 outputs the input image repeatedly as an interpolated image, a motion vector correction part 15 corrects the motion vector V into V1 according to V1=V×α (0≤α≤1). A sub-field conversion part 13 converts each of frames into light emission data of a plurality of sub-fields and a sub-field correction part 16 rearranges the light emission data of the sub-fields using the corrected motion vector V1.
