<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe drum-type washing machine previously preventing the generation of large vibration and noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drum-type washing machine includes: an offset addition means for outputting a second current command by adding a variable offset value to a current command; a frequency component extraction means for extracting the number of lifters attached to a drum and a predetermined frequency component determined by the rotational speed detected by a rotational speed detection means, from the second current command and then outputting a third current command acquired by amplifying the frequency component by a predetermined amplitude gain; a differential signal generation means outputting a corrected second command obtained by shifting the phase of the signal in the second current command by a predetermined amount, and a differential signal acquired by a difference between the corrected second current command and the third current command; and an unbalance detection means for detecting the unbalanced state of the drum according to a third current command variation value acquired by a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the third current command and a differential signal variation value acquired by a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the differential signal.
