<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent temperature of a control section provided in a head in order to control discharge of liquid from getting high. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device includes: the head to discharge the liquid to a medium; a moving mechanism to move the head when discharging the liquid to the medium; a first control section provided in the head to control the discharge of the liquid from the head; a temperature acquisition section to acquire temperature of the first control section; and a second control section to control the moving mechanism to move the head without allowing the head to discharge the liquid when the temperature acquired by the temperature acquisition part is higher than predetermined temperature.
