<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder capable of preventing media to be fed from being lifted and deformed when an edge guide is automatically closed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The feeder (70) includes: a loading part (11) on which the media to be fed (P) are loaded; edge guides (20, 30) which are provided to the loading part (11), moved in the lateral direction X of th media to be fed (P) relative to the loading part (11), and aligned with the side ends of the media to be fed (P) by the contact thereof with the side ends; a pressing member (80) which is provided to the edge guides (20, 30), moved in the stacking direction Z of the media to be fed relative to the edge guides (20, 30), and presses the media to be fed by the contact with the media to be fed (P); and a power transmission means 100 for transmitting the power of a motor (77) to the edge guides (20, 30) and the pressing members (80).
