PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood crushing machine capable of suppressing variance in particle size of crushed wood and enhancing discharge of crushed wood. SOLUTION: The wood crushing machine for crushing lumber to be crushed includes: a crushing rotor 15 having a plurality of crusher bits 36 on its outer periphery; and a screen 38 that is provided with a plurality of discharge holes 80 and arranged facing the outer periphery of the crushing rotor 15. The discharge holes 80 of the screen 38 extend a center line C in the radial direction of the crushing rotor 15, and are divided into a grain adjusting section 81 inside the radial direction of the crushing rotor 15 and a discharge promoting section 82 that is continuous to the outside in the radial direction of the crushing rotor 15 of the grain adjusting section 81 and that has an expanded diameter for the grain adjusting section 81. The inner wall face of the grain adjusting section 81 extends in parallel to the center line C of the discharge holes 80 and, in view from the axial direction of the crushing rotor 15, intersects a line L that goes through a point A in the rear side in the rotating direction of the crushing rotor 15, in the opening edge on the crushing rotor 15 side of the grain adjusting section 81 and that comes in contact with the rotation locus R of the outermost circumference of the crushing rotor 15.
