PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorant for color filter having high brightness; to provide a coloring composition for color filter using the colorant for color filter; and to provide a color filter having segments containing the colorant for color filter. SOLUTION: The colorant for color filter contains a siloxy-aluminum-phthalocyanine compound having the X-ray diffraction pattern on the basis of a specified substituent and specified CuKαray. Further, the colorant for color filter characterized in that a yellow pigment is included in the colorant for color filter is provided, and the coloring composition for color filter including the colorant for green color filter, a resin and/or a precursor of a resin is also provided.
