<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction processor for automatically and accurately processing a reaction by using a reaction vessel plate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An upper unit held on a body unit 100 in a horizontally slidable manner is openable and closable. An optical measurement part 5 is mounted on a linear guide 132 provided on an inside frame 104 and disposed parallel to the sliding direction of the upper unit. A photo-sensor 136a is mounted in a prescribed position of the body unit 100 while the measurement part 5 is mounted with a sector 136b for intercepting sensor light of the photo-sensor 136a. The measurement part 5 moves to a position allowing the photo-sensor 136a to detect the sector 136b before starting optical measurement, and starts a scan for optical measurement with the position where the photo-sensor 136a has detected the sector 136b assumed as an origin.
