(13, Fig. 1) from a faceplate (10) in a hardening &c. machine comprises a sleeve (15) having clamping means (26, 27, Fig. 2) for the work-end, means (18, 21) for aligning the sleeve and faceplate, and driving means (36) engaging the faceplate away from its centre for imparting rotation to the sleeve. A tapered shank (21) and a ring (18) align the driver with the faceplate axis, and a transverse sleeve (22), with a central opening into sleeve (15), houses the clamping jaws (26, 27). These are closed on the work by a screw (32, Fig. 3) having screw-threads of opposite hand engaging the jaws. Pins (33, 34) limit movement of the jaws. A third sleeve (35) houses a pin (36) biased by a spring (39) into a recess (37) in the faceplate, a peg (43) restricting movement of the pin. |
