PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing convex parts, capable of holding a molded plastic lens in such a way as to facilitate the removal of convex parts, and a lens obtained thereby. SOLUTION: After gripping the tip of the sprue part 11 of a molded product 10 after molding, an operator arranges the molded product above a positioning jig 20 and allows the molded product to fall so that branch parts 12 may be engaged individually with grooves 21a of the body 21 of the jig 20. The operation of causing the branch parts 12 to be engaged with the grooves 21a of the body 21 and reach the bottom of the grooves 21a, leads to positioning a lens 14 at the tip of a branch 12 at a specified location with respect to the holding jig 30, more specifically, positioning the lens 14 so that the outer peripheral surface of the flange 14b of the lens 14 may be positioned between the peripheral surfaces 31f and 31f of step portions 31c and 31c of a pair of chucks 31 and 31.
