PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method of a structure member capable of improving a recovery efficiency of a granular waste. SOLUTION: A core shroud 30 to be cut is arranged in the water 29 between a nozzle 4 of a cutting device 2 and a recovery container 9. An annular projection part 10 projecting to the inside is formed on an open end of the recovery container 9. A cutting assistant from a cutting assistant supply device 7 is mixed into a high pressure water pressurized by a high pressure pump 5, in a mixing part 3 of the cutting device 2. The high pressure water containing the cutting assistant is jetted out as abrasive water jet 26 from the nozzle 4 toward the core shroud 30. The abrasive water jet 26 collides with the core shroud 30 to cut the core shroud 30. A high pressure water flow 27 of the abrasive water jet 26 passing the core shroud 30 and flowing into the recovery container 9 flows toward a sidewall on a bottom part of the recovery container 9, further flows along the sidewall, and hits on the projection part 10, to thereby form a flow toward the inside of the recovery container 9.
