<p>The vehicle, towed by a towing vessel, comprises a tubular or profiled framework (1) which is closed by panels (5). It incorporates a digital zenithal chamber (4) for taking pictures of the seabed, as well as a lens, focus (8) and laser indicators (9) for determining the scale. It incorporates probes (7) for measuring the pressure, temperature and salinity and an altimeter (6) for measuring the distance from the seabed. The measurement data is transmitted by means of a first acoustic modem (3) located in the underwater vehicle and a second acoustic modem installed in the towing vessel. The underwater vehicle does not use umbilical lines and is connected to the towing vessel by means of a cable (2) and shackles (16). It has a high degree of stability due to a pair of rudders (12) at the rear (13), its aerodynamic form, a ballast (14) at the bottom and buoys (15) at the top.</p> |
