PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen rack common regardless of the type of a specimen container and the presence or absence of rotation of the specimen container. SOLUTION: An adapter for a specimen rack used in an automatic analyzer and a specimen pretreatment apparatus and applied to a specimen rack for holding a plurality of specimen containers, has: a specimen rack attaching part inserted into an adapter insertion part of the body of the specimen rack to be fixed; a specimen container position determining part for holding the specimen containers; and a sleeve.
