<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem according to prior art, in which there is a risk that a driver would feel or incompatibility when a risky on-coming vehicle comes close to the right of own vehicle, since own vehicle is controlled toward the on-coming vehicle, whereas a control threshold is set to avoid an obstacle when the obstacle is located on the left of the own vehicle, and own vehicle is controlled, when it exceeds the control threshold, to return to a position where the control threshold is not exceeded according to deviation quantity. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle control device includes a calculation part which calculates a first risk existing on the left of own vehicle and a second risk present on the right of own vehicle; a setting part which sets a first control threshold to the left of own vehicle, based on the first degree of risk and sets a second control threshold to the right of the own vehicle based on the second degree of risk; and a change part which changes, at least one of the first and second control thresholds based on the first and second degrees of risks. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
