<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series of techniques for easily screening a compound specifically bonded to hydrophobic target protein such as membrane protein or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of screening the compound specifically bonded to hydrophobic target protein includes the step (1) for bringing fused protein of the target protein and chaperonin into contact with a compound library containing various compounds and bonding a desired compound to the target protein part of the fused protein, the step (2) for separating the aggregate of the fused protein and the compound from the compound library, and the step (3) for identifying the compound bonded to the fused protein.
