<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly determine abnormality of a metering device of a combination balance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Every time a combination article is discharged from the combination balance 1, a weight selector 4 again performs metering. A CPU 9 calculates a metering value difference, which is a difference between a total weight of discharged combination articles and a metering value of the discharged combination articles again metered by the weight selector 4. According to a metering value difference, the CPU 9 determines whether the combination articles corresponding to the metering value difference are normal or abnormal. When abnormality is first determined, 1 is stored in an area corresponding to the metering device of combination determined to be abnormal and 0 is stored in the other areas in a first storage part. In a second storage part, when abnormality is determined subsequently to the first determination to be abnormal, 1 is stored in an area corresponding to the metering device of combination determined to be abnormal, and 0 is stored in the other areas. When normal is determined subsequently to the determination to be abnormal, 0 is stored in an area corresponding to the metering device of combination determined to be normal, and 1 is stored in the other areas. The CPU 9 detects the corresponding areas each storing 1 in the first and second storage parts, and determines the metering devices corresponding to the areas to be abnormal.
