<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner suppressing an increase in an ozone concentration in exhaust air. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes a dust collection means 10 provided at an upstream side of an electric blower 1 and collecting dust, an air intake port 23 communicating with outside air, an auxiliary electric blower 21 communicating with the air intake port 23, and generating suction air for diffusing ozone, an ion generator 19 of high-pressure impression type, an opening/closing member 23a opening/closing the air intake port 23, and an ozone concentration detection means 14 provided at a downstream side of the ion generator 19 and detecting the ozone concentration in exhaust air. In a case where the ozone concentration detected by the ozone concentration detection means 14 is a predetermined threshold or more when the electric blower 1 is stopped, the air intake port 23 is opened for a predetermined time to actuate the auxiliary electric blower 21. When the electric blower 1 is stopped, ozone is apt to remain inside the vacuum cleaner, however, the auxiliary electric blower 21 is actuated to diffuse the remained ozone to atmosphere so as to cause no discomfort for a user.
