<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack wherein, even if a unit cell constituting the battery pack abnormally heats, adjacent unit cells are prevented from failing due to the heat. <P>SOLUTION: A battery pack 100 includes a plurality of unit cells 110 arranged adjacently. The battery pack 100 contains a phase change material 135 having the melting point higher than the temperature range in normal use of the unit cell 110 but lower than the breakage temperature at which the unit cell 110 is thermally broken. The phase change material 135 is arranged such that it exists between the adjoining unit cells 110, and if one of the unit cells 110 is heated up to a temperature higher than the melting point, it absorbs the heat for fusion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
