PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more properly protect an oil filter attached on a transverse type engine in the event of collision of vehicle. SOLUTION: In an oil filter attachment structure for vehicle engine, an exhaust passage 7 is connected to the side face of vehicle rear side of an engine 1 disposed in an engine room 2 in a transverse posture in which a crankshaft 8 is directed toward a body widthwise direction, as well as a drive shaft 50 for driving front wheel extending in a body widthwise direction along the side face is arranged below the exhaust passage 7. Out of the side face of vehicle rear side of the engine 1, a filter bracket 36 is arranged at a height position where to overlap with the drive shaft 50 as viewed from vehicle rear side, and an oil filter 35 is attached, at a lower end of the filter bracket 36 extending to a height position lower than the drive shaft 50.
