The gas generator has a component (12) and another component (14), which is connected by a squirted plastic base (16) with the former component. The former component has an adhesive film (42) applied before squirting in a contact area (40) with the plastic base. The former component is made up of metal, ceramic or plastic. A plastic foil is provided with a thermoplastic elastomer. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the gas generator.
