<p>A lesion candidate is determined on the basis of the feature value of the shape of a shadow. A medical image processing apparatus includes a candidate determining means for creating a distribution histogram of the size of image portions having a specific shape for one or more different shapes shown in a medical image by using data relating to the medical image (step S4) and determining a lesion candidate shown in the medical image on the basis of the result of analysis of the feature value of the size distribution histogram for one or more different shapes (step S5), a display means, and a control means for displaying the result of the determination of the lesion candidate on the display means (step S6).</p> |
