Alkylated tetrahydropyran compounds (I) are new, where (I) excludes 2,6-dimethyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-tetrahydropyran, 6-methyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-2-(2-methylpropyl)-tetrahydropyran, 2-methyl-3-n-propyl-tetrahydropyran or 2-methyl-3-n-butyl-tetrahydropyran. Alkylated tetrahydropyran compounds of formula (I) are new, where (I) excludes 2,6-dimethyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-tetrahydropyran, 6-methyl-3-(1-methylethenyl)-2-(2-methylpropyl)-tetrahydropyran, 2-methyl-3-n-propyl-tetrahydropyran or 2-methyl-3-n-butyl-tetrahydropyran. R 1 : H, 1-3C alkyl group or 2-3C alkenyl group; R 2 : 3-4C alkyl or alkenyl group; and R 3 : 1-5C alkyl group. Independent claims are included for: (1) a mixture comprising (a) one, two, three, four or more of the above alkylated tetrahydropyran, (b) one or more (volatile) aroma- and/or flavors, preferably one or more substance(s) consisting of substances with physiological cooling effect, flavors without physiological cooling effect, trigeminal or mouthwash effective substances without physiological cooling effect or flavor modulating substances, and (c) optionally a carrier; and (2) the preparation of (I).
