<p>PURPOSE: An air-conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to improve stability of the air-conditioner by performing a power factor correction in a stable environment. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an air-conditioner comprises the following steps: controlling an inverter and a compressor by a power factor correction control; measuring provided power consumption, an operation frequency of the compressor, and a voltage of a DC link(S440); stopping the power factor correction control when the provided power consumption is lower than a fixed standard; stopping the power factor correction control when the voltage of the DC link is higher than the fixed standard; stopping the power factor correction control when provided power consumption higher than the fixed standard, while the operation frequency of the compressor is lower than the fixed standard; and maintaining the power factor correction control when the provided power consumption is higher than the fixed standard, and the voltage of the DC link is lower than the fixed standard.</p> |
