The device has a database system comprising a destination table for storing possible destinations for postal products and a postal product table for storing types of the postal products. A network interface is provided for permitting communication with clients through a network, where pricing inquiries for the postal products are received through the interface. The interface permits all necessary pricing information to be received or only part of the information to enter into a dialog with one of the clients when the information is missing. An independent claim is also included for a method for variable depiction of postal services for postal products.
