A catheter sheath (10) is disclosed. The sheath (10) is able to open up and expose electrodes (22, 64) previously concealed. The sheath (10) includes an elongate element (12) defining a primary lumen and a plurality of secondary lumens arranged in spaced relationship about the primary lumen. A plurality of discrete members or petals (14) are arranged at the end of the elongate element (12), the discrete members (14) being defined by a plurality of circumferentially spaced, longitudinally extending slits at the end of the elongate element that separate the members from each other. The discrete members (14) also carry the secondary lumens and continue to define the primary lumen when in a first position. The discrete members (14) are displaceable using pull wires, between the first position which extends parallel to a longitudinal axis of the elongate element (12) and a second position in which the discrete members extend transversely to the longitudinal axis of the elongate element (12). At least one electrode (22) is carried by at least one of the discrete members (14). The electrical conductors (64) for the at least one electrode is arranged in the primary lumen, the primary lumen being shaped to accommodate the conductors.
