PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer processing method which secures safety, stability, workability and economy in putting/taking out an article in/from a box. SOLUTION: A box 21 whose mouth 22 is held open is horizontally inverted by a discharge operation part 41 for taking out an article from the box on a transfer line. The article 11 which is discharged from the box 21 and now in a laterally long posture is transferred from a travel starting part 51 to a posture changing part 61. The article 11 which is in the laterally long posture is changed to a vertically long posture by the part 61 and the article is transferred to processing operation parts 71-73 for processing. The article 11 after processing is transferred to a boxing operation part 81 and pushed from here to a box arrangement part 92 side. The part 92 receives the vertically long article 11 pushed in the box 21 from the mouth 22 which is open. Then, the box 21 with the article is transferred to the outside of the part 92.
