PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple one-step method for producing a branched hydrosiloxane without decomposing SiH functional groups. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a liquid branched SiH-functional siloxane, the liquid branched SiH-functional siloxane is produced by reacting a mixture comprising one or more low molecular weight SiH-functional siloxanes, one or more low molecular weight SiH function-free siloxanes and one or more tetraalkoxysilanes, and optionally one or more trialkoxysilanes in the presence of water and a Bronsted acidic ion exchanger.
