<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum washing machine in which rigidity of right and left side plates of an outer box is enhanced to reduce vibration during dehydration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The drum washing machine includes an outer box 41 being a vertically elongated substantially rectangular parallelepiped to be supported by elongated substantially rectangular right and left side plates 36, and the right and left side plates 36 are made of a pressed steel sheet or the like. A plurality of recess drawn portion 37 is formed in the horizontal direction on the side plates 36 and the vertical size (P) of the recess drawn portion 37 is made larger than the vertical size (T) between the recess drawn portions. Thus surface rigidity of the right and left side plates 36 is enhanced and the right and left side plates 36 can be designed to have higher resonance frequency.
